Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson will miss the team’s Christmas Eve matchup against the Indianapolis Colts.

It’s the second straight game that Johnson will miss after re-injuring a hamstring that has bothered him much of the year.

Without Johnson last week, the Texans took a big hit in a surprising loss at home to the Carolina Panthers.

The win very likely cost the Texans any chance at one of the top seeds in the AFC, a first-round bye and homefield advantage.

The Texans have already clinched the division title and playoff berth, so they are probably content to let Johnson return for the postseason.

Losing Leinart will certainly hurt the Texans, who now must scramble to find a new starting quarterback.

For Leinart, it’s a tough break for a player who was finally getting a chance to show whether or not he has progressed into a quality quarterback.

Houston has now lost two quarterbacks and their star defensive end for the year while Andre Johnson missed two months with a hamstring injury.

The Houston Texans bounced back from last week’s tough loss to smash the host Tennessee Titans, 41-7.

Running back Arian Foster exploded for 115 yards rushing and 119 yards receiving to lead the Texans in both categories. He also scored three touchdowns.

Running back Ben Tate also got plenty of playing time, carrying the ball 15 times for 104 yards and showing that he is one of the top backups in the league.

Give the Houston defense a lot of credit for adjusting to life without Mario Williams and shutting down a Tennessee offense that has been surprisingly efficient.

The win clearly establishes the Texans as the team to beat in the AFC South, and the division is certainly there for the taking.

Houston Texans running back Arian Foster left his team’s blowout preseason victory early yet again because of a hamstring injury.

The injury is not considered to be too serious and is just a re-aggravation of the hamstring injury he already suffered earlier in the preseason.

However, it has to be a slight concern that the one hamstring appears to on the verge of becoming a chronic injury, and the regular season is less than two weeks away.

Foster apparently isn’t happy with fantasy football fans who have been tweeting him to see if he is ok and still worth drafting in their leagues.

The running back took to Twitter to criticize those just concerned about his fantasy football status, calling them sick.

The Houston Texans have signed veteran tight end Owen Daniels to a four-year contract worth $22 million.

That’s an impressive deal for Daniels and a sign that the Texans believe he is fully recovered from his knee injury.

Daniels started off slow last year and never really looked completely like himself, although there were glimpses of the old tight end.

Players usually don’t make a full recovery from ACL surgery for a full two years, so Daniels could have a big 2011 season.

The knee injury was so serious that Daniels actually wondered if he would ever be able to play again.

In the process, Foster set a number of franchise records.

The running back was said to already be walking again, so it seems like the procedure was a non-issue.

The Texans silence on the news seems to back that up, as they have not made any statement on the injury.

Phillips had a lot of success as a defensive coordinator with other teams in the past but has his work cut out for him in Houston.

The Texans had one of the worst pass defenses in the league and were third-worst in yards allowed.

Houston just recently fired their defensive coordinator and a number of defensive assistants and position coaches.

Gary Kubiak managed to hold onto his job, and he is counting on Phillips to keep it that way for some time to come.

Many Houston fans have organized a rally that is designed to voice their displeasure over Gary Kubiak and demand that he be fired.

The demonstation will occur outside the stadium before Sunday’s season finale, though fans are encouraged not to bash the coach or bring profane signs.

Call me crazy, but I’m pretty sure he is going to be fired whether or not any type of rally takes place.

The team fell apart in the second half of the year for the second straight season, one in which many predicted a trip to the postseason.
